A 13-year-old boy was shot and wounded by his 11-year-old schoolmate inside a billiard hall in barangay Suba-Pasil, Cebu City.
Police said it was not clear if the shooting was an accident.
Police said the 11-year-old boy was seen toying with a handgun and pointed it at the victim when it went off.
Cesar Abergas, caretaker of Juma-os Billiard Hall, said he was doing something inside the billiard hall when he heard a single gunshot at 5 p.m. last Saturday.
Abergas said he saw the 11-year-old boy running with a gun.
Abergas said he heard the boy saying “ako naman to nakuhaag bala (I already unloaded the gun).”
Abergas said he saw the 13-year-old boy slumped on the floor with a gunshot wound in the head and rushed him to a Cebu City hospital.
A deformed slug from an unknown caliber was recovered from the scene.
In barangay Alaska-Mambaling, unidentified assailants shot and wounded a 30-year-old construction worker early dawn yesterday.
Roger Jemoya is recuperating in a Cebu City hospital.
Police said residents in sitio Puntod told police that three successive bursts of gunfire broke out at 12:45 a.m.
Jemoya was later found slumped on the ground with gunshot wounds in the body.
