MANILA, Philippines — Five Luzon areas will experience rain on Saturday due to the prevailing southwest monsoon, locally termed habagat, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said the southwest monsoon is forecast to cause cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms in the Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will see generally fair weather conditions on Saturday although localized thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon, he added.

“Sa kasalukuyan wala pa rin tayong namamataan o minomonitor na low pressure area o sama ng panahon sa loob at labas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility na maaaring maka-apekto sa ating bansa sa mga susunod na araw,” Villamil said during an early Saturday morning public weather report.
(Currently, we are still not observing or monitoring any low pressure area or bad weather inside or outside our Philippine area of responsibility that may affect our country in the next few days.)
