Search for Quiboloy may take days - PNP

MANILA, Philippines — The search for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) Compound in Davao City may take days, Philippine National Police spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said on Friday.

Fajardo cited the sprawling 30-hectare compound and the delaying tactics used by its members.

“It will take hours, if not days, to really search ang napakalaking (the very big) compound na iyon at kailangan pag iispan ng mabuti (it has tobe planned well),” Fajardo said over radio dwPM.

On Thursday, Davao regional police director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III confirmed that Quiboloy is hiding at the KJC compound. Torre said there is a plan to conduct another operation against Quiboloy, but they are trying to avoid bloodshed.

“This time around, they are still trying to explore some options to prevent someone from getting hurt again, and we see that they are ready and anticipating that the police will enter the compound)=,” Fajardo said, speaking partly in Filipino.

Last June 10, some 100 police officers stormed the premises of the KOJC compound to serve the warrants of arrest against Quiboloy, but they were prevented by members from entering.

A P10-million reward awaits anyone with information leading to the arrest of Quiboloy, according to Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr.
