MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. has ordered the reorganization of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Zero Hunger.

The task force was created in 2020 “to ensure that government policies, initiatives, and projects on attaining zero hunger shall be coordinated, responsive, and effective.”

In issuing Executive No. 66, dated August 6, Marcos designated the secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development as chairperson of the task force, joined by the executive director of the National Nutrition Council as co-chairperson.

Meanwhile, the secretary of the Department of Agriculture was assigned as the task force’s vice chairperson.

Members joining the task force are the secretaries of the following departments:

  • Department of Agrarian Reform
  • Department of Budget and Management
  • Department of Education
  • Department of Environment and Natural Resources
  • Department of Health
  • Department of Labor and Employment
  • Department of the Interior and Local Government
  • Department of Trade and Industry
  • Department of Science and Technology
  • Presidential Communications Office
  • National Economic and Development Authority
  • Commission on Higher Education chairperson
  • Director-General of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority

“The Task Force on Zero Hunger members may designate an alternate to represent their respective offices in their absence. Such alternates must be fully authorized to decide for and on behalf of the Task Force on Zero Hunger members,” the order read.

“As may be necessary and upon the approval of the President and/or the Executive Secretary, the Task Force on Zero Hunger is hereby authorized to further reorganize its composition, subject to existing laws, rules and regulations,” it added.
