Defeat not an option for ALA pug Domingo
MICHAEL “Bruce Lee” Domingo is hoping for a win against Ghana’s Joseph Agbeko for the vacant IBO bantamweight title on May 26 at the Ell-Wak Stadium in Accra, Ghana, West Africa.
“He will lose everything he’s got if he losses this fight against Agbeko,” said ALA Boxing Promotions president Michael Aldguer.
“Although the pressure is on him, we all know what kind of boxer Domingo is. He is really tough and skillful boxer.”
Domingo, a former WBO Oriental bantamweight champion, is also hoping to end the Filipino’s drought in Africa.
Recently, Marjohn Yap of ALA Boxing Gym lost to African Miniyakhe Sityatha last May 12 at the Orient Theatre in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Domingo already fought but lost to South African Vusi Malinga for the IBF bantamweight eliminator last 2010. He also lost to WBA interim super flyweight champion Drian Francisco last year but came back strong by knocking out the battle-hardened Marvin “Leyte Bomber” Tampus last January in the Pinoy Pride XII in Tagbilaran, Bohol.
