Kyocera keeps record flawless

THE KYOCERA Frontiers stayed unbeaten while the JP Morgan Chase Co. Bankers finally barged into the win column after they beat separate rivals in the northern division of the 2012 Sun Cellular E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym last Saturday.

The Frontiers nosed out the Xlibris Publishers, 50-47, while the Bankers also scored tight win over the Executive Boutique Lycans, 58-53.

Eliot Emerson Uy had a brilliant all-around game for the Frontiers, finishing with 13 points, seven rebounds, four blocks, three steals and an assist.

Jason Rodriguez added 10 points and seven boards for Kyocera, which joined 1&1, Convergys and Stream at the top spot with identical 2-0 (win-loss) records.

Martin Ian De Guzman tallied 13 points while Violeto Tan Jr. chipped in 11 for the Publishers, who tasted their third loss in four starts.

Mariel Barrera, meanwhile, piled up 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Joel Anthony Obungen wound up with 14 points, two assists, one rebound and one steal as the Bankers ended a three-game slide to post their first win of the season.

Andrew Thomas John Hilvano erupted for 25 points but couldn’t save the Lycans from absorbing their third loss in as many games.

R’nyl Joey Cagas backed Hilvano with 14 points.

In the southern division action, the Lexmark Stallions broke into the win column at the expense of the erstwhile unbeaten Teletech Titans, 60-58.

Franco Angelo Cipriano, Roy Joseph Lanzaderas and Mervin Balansag combined for 35 points to help the Stallions nail their first victory after two straight losses to start the season.
