MANILA, Philippines— The University of Caloocan City (UCC) has inaugurated a new College of Engineering that will offer free engineering courses to students.
The new College of Engineering will start accepting students for the upcoming school year, providing programs in BS Electronics Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, and BS Industrial Engineering.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan, who led the inauguration on Monday, July 29, at Barangay 176 Bagong Silang, expressed his pride in the opening of the new college, emphasizing the importance of accessible education.
“You know that even before I became Mayor, this was one of my promises during the campaign, and today, we mark the fulfillment of this promise,” Malapitan said.
“The dream of having an engineer in your family is now within reach for the youth of Caloocan. And just like other courses at UCC, education here is free to make it easier for our children to achieve their dreams in life,” he said.
The mayor thanked everyone who supported the project and assured his constituents that the quality of education in the city would continue to improve, not just at UCC but across all city schools.
Malapitan promised to “provide more opportunities for the youth, and we will continue to implement high standards and quality education, not just at UCC but in all schools in our city.”
