Police nab 2 alleged ‘high-value’ drug traffickers in Rizal

Police have arrested three drug suspects and seized more than P600,000 worth of "shabu" in a buy-bust operation in Binangonan, Rizal.

LUCENA CITY — The police seized more than P421,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) from two alleged “high-value” drug traffickers in Rodriguez town in Rizal province on Saturday, July 27.

Police Region 4A Director Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas reported that “Rey”, 34, and Raffy”, 37, were collared by anti-illegal drug operatives after they allegedly sold shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) San Jose at 5:10 p.m.

The law enforcers confiscated from the suspects nine plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 62 grams worth P421,600.

They tagged the suspects, both residents of the said village, as among the persons included in the police drug watch list as “HVIs” or high-value individuals in the local drug trade.

Authorities are investigating the source of the drugs.

The suspects are being detained and are facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
