12 injured in train-van collision in Albay
LEGAZPI CITY — Twelve persons were injured after a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train collided with a passenger van in Daraga, Albay Saturday afternoon (July 27).
Major Ma. Luisa Tino, spokesperson of the Albay police, said based on the investigation, the passenger van driven by Larry Marilla, 35, was crossing the railroad tracks en route to Barangay (village) Dinoronan when it was hit and dragged for almost 78-feet by the PNR train in Barangay (village) Gapo at around 2:30 p.m.
Twelve van passengers were injured and brought to ospital.
The passenger train, operated by Jade De Jesus, was traveling from Sipocot town to Legazpi City.
