MANILA, Philippines — A dead body was found in the Tullahan River, authorities said on Thursday.

The remains were found under the bridge at C4 Road in Barangay Tañong, Malabon City, according to dzBB.

Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel arrived in the area to recover the dead body.

The identity of the remains and the cause of death remain undetermined.

La Mesa Dam overflowed on Wednesday evening due to the heavy rains brought about by Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon, exacerbating flooding on Tullahan River’s banks in the cities of Malabon, Quezon, and Valenzuela.

At least 21 people from Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon reportedly died due to the onslaught of Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon, the Philippine National Police said on Thursday.
