LUCENA CITY — Six family members were rescued Wednesday after a landslide trapped them inside their house that was buried in Taytay, Rizal.

A report from Region 4A police on Thursday, July 25, said the victims were inside their house in Barangay San Isidro around 3:45 p.m. when it was buried by eroded soil from the upper part of the area caused by heavy rains spawned by Typhoon Carina (international name: Gaemi).

The victims were Marlon, 45; Mylene, 37; Yamchie, 17; Jamaica, 16; Shanaya, 11; and Ashley, 10, all surnamed Tiburcio.

The police and local rescuers successfully pulled the victims out of the muddy soil and taken to the Rizal Provincial Hospital System in the locality for treatment.
