Veteran radioman Lito Balquiedra; 70

MANILA, Philippines—Veteran dzMM broadcaster Lito Balquiedra Jr. or LBJ, as he was fondly called, died of a heart attack at a hospital in Pasig City on Saturday.

According to a dzMM radio report, the former disc jockey was rushed early in the morning to The Medical City after suffering a heart attack.

The Inquirer reached hospital personnel for confirmation but was given the runaround.

According to the report, doctors tried to revive Balquiedra but to no avail.

It said Balquiedra was 70 years old. He is survived by Maria Clara, his wife, and his two daughters.

Balquiedra’s remains lie at Christ the King Parish Church on Greenmeadows Avenue in Quezon City, the report said.
