MANILA,  Philippines – Sen. JV Ejercito is back as deputy majority leader in the Senate.

On Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino’s motion, Ejercito was elected to his old post during Tuesday’s regular session.

Ejercito held the position during the  time of then Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.

But when Zubiri resigned on May 20, his allies, including Ejercito,  followed  suit.

Aside from Ejercito, the Senate also elected the new heads of two committees.

Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go is the new chairman of  the Senate committee on youth, which was left vacant following the resignation of Senator Sonny Angara.
