MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. arrived at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City to deliver his third State of the Nation Address (Sona).

Despite the rainy weather, Marcos arrived by presidential chopper at 3:33 p.m.

Marcos was welcomed with military honors and was greeted by the country’s highest government officials, including House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Senate President Francis Escudero.

The President was donning a barong made by artisans from Lucban, Quezon, Taal, Batangas, and Aklan.

While no information has been released yet regarding the exact content of his speech, the President on Friday said there was “a lot he wanted to talk about.”

This year’s Sona will be directed by state-owned Radio Television Malacañang. The budget is P20 million.

World Championships of Performing Arts 2024 Gold Medalist Blessie Abagat will sing the national anthem for the Sona.

The House of Representatives, meanwhile, has banned Sona outfits with derogatory words or political messages.
