Angara suspends DepEd teachers’ performance review

MANILA, Philippines — Education Secretary Sonny Angara on Monday said he ordered the suspension of the Results-based Performance Monitoring System (RBPMS) for public school teachers for at least a month amid concerns raised by educators.
“Well we’ve issued one already, or we’ll issue today. Ito ‘yong suspension ng RPMS, ‘yan ‘yong teacher’s reports, ito ‘yong nire-review nila ‘yong performance nitong nakaraang school year,” he said in an ambush interview.
(This is the suspension of RBPMS, the teachers’ reports, the review of their performance last school year.)
“Ang reklamo ng mga teachers is nagkakasabay siya sa bukasan ng pasukan so ang daming kailangan na documentation etc. tapos kasabay ‘yung Brigada Eskwela,” he said.
(Teachers complain that the submission of many documents coincides with the opening of classes and Brigada Eskwela.)
