“While we respect the right of our fellow citizens to express themselves, we call on them to conduct it in an orderly and peaceful manner for the safety of everyone—from our protesters to our community to our police force,” Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas, PRO-4A police chief, said in a statement.

He assured the protesters that the law enforcers would observe and exercise maximum tolerance.

“Red teams have been assigned to monitor and supervise police activities in the field,” Lucas emphasized.

Lucas said more policemen would be visible on the streets and various places, working alongside other government agencies to ensure public safety during the Sona.

“Personnel from the PNP 4A, the Land Transportation Office, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and other units have been deployed within border control points and strategic security control points across the region to meticulously inspect vehicles entering and leaving the region, ensuring the safety and security of all,” Lucas said.
