MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude five earthquake struck the waters off Sultan Kudarat, the state seismology bureau said on Friday.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the earthquake’s epicenter was located west of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat.

It had a depth of focus of four kilometers.

Phivolcs said while no damage was expected, aftershocks were possible.

As of writing, the agency has not released the data on the intensities felt in the surrounding areas.
