MANILA, Philippines — There is no tsunami threat in the Philippines following the magnitude 7.4 magnitude earthquake in northern Chile, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported on Friday.
The earthquake jolted northern Chile at 9:51 a.m. on Friday (Philippine time).
Chile is located along the Pacific “Ring of Fire,” where intense seismic activities happen.
‘The arc extends from Japan through Southeast Asia and across the Pacific basin.
