Makati City kicks off local tourism program

MANILA, Philippines — Makati City launched its tourism campaign “Visit a Better Makati” on Thursday to showcase its cultural heritage, development programs, and commercial lifestyle.

Makati Mayor Abby Binay said that the tourism program aims to encourage more visitors to the city. With the slogan “Tara Na! Experience a Better Makati,” visitors from sister localities can enjoy discount vouchers from partner merchants and free walking tours to delegates.

“We want to elevate the visitor experience to a whole new level when they come to Makati. We want to showcase the city’s distinctive blend of centuries-old cultural heritage and cosmopolitan lifestyle. At the same time, we also intend to highlight our social programs that have gotten better over time,” said Binay.

The mayor also added that visitors from its sister localities have learned so much from the city’s development into a “better version” of public service and governance, adding that “it is high time that they also experience first-hand how leisure can be seamlessly combined with business in our city.”

The vouchers can offer up to 60 percent discount from 6 hotels and 9 merchants in the city, which can be viewed by clicking here to see the full list.
