MANILA, Philippines — House of Representatives Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez has thanked the public for their rising trust and approval of his work, noting that the latest survey results are an affirmation of his and his colleagues’ work and efforts.

Romualdez said this in a statement on Wednesday after polling firm Pulse Asia released a report showing that the Speaker’s trust and approval ratings were at 35 percent — four points higher than the numbers recorded in the March 2024 survey.

This makes Romualdez the highest gainer among the country’s top three officials — him, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and Vice President Sara Duterte.

“Leading this esteemed institution has been an honor, and your continued trust and approval inspires us to strive for excellence in all our endeavors. The welfare of the Filipino people remains our top priority,” he added.

Romualdez’s performance and trust ratings were both at 31 percent in the March 2024 survey, and both increased to 35 percent for June 2024.

The Speaker said that they remain committed to implementing policies, programs, and projects that will have a positive impact on the lives of Filipinos.

“Patuloy nating pagsisikapan na maibaba ang presyo ng bigas at mga pangunahing bilihin. Dadagdagan natin ang pondo ng ayuda para sa mga indigent Filipinos. It is imperative that we support our most vulnerable citizens and provide them with the necessary resources to improve their quality of life,” he added.
