Bad weather prompts cancellation of some domestic flights on Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced at noon time on Wednesday (July 17) that some flights are canceled “due to inclement weather.”

In a Viber advisory released to the media, following is the list of canceled flights as of 12:30 a.m.:

Philippine Atmospheric and Geophysical Services Administration has forecast that rain showers will prevail in most parts of the country on Wednesday.

This condition is due to a low pressure area (LPA) east of Surigao del Norte and the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

The state bureau is not ruling out the possibility that the LPA will become a typhoon while moving closer to our landmass and it will trigger rainfall in the coming days.
