Man beheaded in Argao

A MAN was beheaded yesterday by two brothers in barangay Capyoan, Argao town in southern Cebu.

Police identified the victim as Carlito Nazara, 43, whose head was found ten meters away from his body, according to Argao police investigator P02 Benjamin Jerosaga.

The two brothers—Antonio Solis Jr., 48, and Emilio, 42—came from a drinking session at 4 p.m. when they barged into the victim’s house.

One of the Solis brothers hacked Nazara in the shoulder. When the victim’s girlfriend Sylvia Camajalan, 43, intervened, she, too, was hacked at the back and neck.

Nazara was able to jump out the window and was chased by the assailants to the house of the barangay captain, when he was hacked again in the stomach. The two brothers then slashed Nazara’s neck until his head was cut off. The Solis brothers later surrendered to a barangay councilor, who turned them over to the police. They said they attacked Nazara because he threatened them first.

Police were taking the statement last night of the victim’s girlfriend, Camajalan, who was discharged from the hospital after treatment of her injuries. Correspondent JHunnex Napallacan
