PWDs to show musical talents

A GROUP of disabled persons from Quezon City, the Rondalla On Wheels (ROW) will perform a weeklong concert in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, from May 25 to June 2.

Rolando Villamero Jr., Great Physician Rehabilitation (GPRehab) coordinator, said the concert will showcase the talents of persons with disabilities (PWDs).

GPRehab executive director Analou Suan said, “We take pride in inviting ROW to Dumaguete City to raise awareness about the capabilities of persons with disabilities and to generate funds for GPRehab’s CHILD (Caring Hands to Inspire and Link with Differently-Abled Children) project.”

The ROW is a small orchestra that uses instruments like bandurias, octavinas, laud, guitars and contra-bass and drums for rhythm.

The music is a therapy, spiritual, and creative formation of band members outside their schooling in elementary and high school.

The ROW already performed in various parts of the country and in Europe, Japan and Hong Kong.

A mini concert will be held on May 27 at 6 p.m. at the Quezon Park.

There will be a presentation on May 30 in Bayawan City. On May 31 at 7 p.m., a concert will be held at the Bethel Guest House in Dumaguete City.
