An Australian couple and a Filipina were found dead in a hotel room in Tagaytay City, their hands and feet bound and their mouths covered with packaging tape.

MANILA, Philippines–An Australian couple and a Filipina were found dead in a hotel room in Tagaytay City, their hands and feet bound and their mouths covered with packaging tape,  police said Friday.

The victims, Australian citizens David Fisk, 57, and Lucita Cortez, 55, were discovered along with Mary Jane Cortez by the hotel staff, who called the police at about 1:35 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10.

Mary Jane was Lucita’s daughter-in-law.

Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas of the Calabarzon Police Regional Office ordered the creation of a special investigation task group, “SITG David Fisk,” to identify and arrest the killer.

“For now, we are conducting a thorough investigation based on the evidence that we have collected in our initial investigation. Our task group conducted backtracking of CCTV footage and follow-up investigations for the possible identification of the suspect,” Lucas said.

“Rest assured that we will provide updates on any new information that comes to light on this case. We will ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime will be held accountable,” he said.
