DOTr warns public vs scammers posing as 'railway undersecretary'

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) warned the public against people posing as its “railway undersecretary” to ask for funds or enter into business transactions.

In an advisory on Friday, the agency especially notified suppliers and contractors not to entertain any unsolicited contacts via phone, email, or social media claiming to be Undersecretary Jeremy Regino.

“The Office of the Undersecretary has not authorized anyone to solicit, in any form, on his behalf,” the agency said.

The DOTr urged the public not to share confidential information such as pricing, account details, or login credentials with potential scammers.

It also warned impersonators that they take this matter seriously and will take legal action against them, if necessary.

The DOTr reminded stakeholders that all transportation concerns should be directed to the established contact details of the agency which can be found on its website, www.dotr.gov.ph, or by calling its official phone numbers at 8790-8300/8790-8400 loc. (210).
