ALA Boxing Promotions welcome Jaca’s return

ALA Boxing Promotions welcomed back welterweight veteran Jimrex “Executioner” Jaca to their fold.

Jaca left ALA Boxing last 2010 and landed in the hands of Spanish boxing promoter Rafael Sancho. Under Sancho, Jaca’s career wasn’t able to flourish. According to Jaca, Sancho suffered a mild stroke in Spain.

It took time before ALA Boxing Promotions and boxing patron Antonio L. Aldeguer decided to take back Jaca, who sports a record of 34 wins with 19 knockouts, six losses and three draws.

Aldeguer’s passion of helping boxers once again prevailed, which led to the return of Jaca to the ALA fold.

“ALA Promotions’ primary aim is to help boxers and let them reach their dream of becoming a champion. That’s why we accepted Jaca back,” said Michael Aldeguer, the president and CEO of ALA Boxing Promotions.

Although there were no conditions and rules for Jaca’s return, Michael said all they wanted was security for Jaca’s career.

“I am very thankful to Antonio L. Aldeguer and Michael for the renewed trust they gave me,” said Jaca during the contract signing yesterday at the City Sports Club-Cebu.

Aldeguer’s plan is to pit Jaca against Canada’s Steve Claggete this coming July in the undercard of AJ “Bazooka” Banal’s bout in Manila. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
