Manhunt underway for suspects of P1.2 M truck heist in Bulacan

MANILA, Philippines—A manhunt operation has been launched to find the suspects who high-jacked a delivery truck loaded with P1.2 million worth of groceries in Bulacan, said Highway Patrol Group (HPG) Director-Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina on Thursday.

The truck was on its way to way to SM Bulacan and SM Pampanga, when it was waylaid.

Espina said the investigation achieved a breakthrough when one of the helpers of the high-jacked trucks, Allan Panaligan, admitted his participation in the crime, and named the other suspects. They were Isidro Tanawa, Russel Moning, Amiano Cambe and a kuya Rey.

Half of the shipment of grocery items were likewise recovered on Wednesday in the house of a Rosalyn Caga, the alleged buyer of goods from the heisted delivery truck. This was confirmed by Jayvee Angulo, operations officer of J-Movers Trucking, the company that owns the high-jacked truck, who positively identified the stolen goods, Espina said.

An anti-fencing law, and anti-highway robbery case will be filed against Caga, Espina said.
