MANILA, Philippines — In Rizal province’s Morong town, three people were killed after a stolen police car rammed pedestrians on Thursday.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said that based on the report of the Rizal Provincial Police Office, the incident happened at Tomas Street in Barangay San Juan at 10:45 a.m.
The suspect, a 57-year-old man, who seized the police car and crashed, had a mental health problem, according to the police.

“A man with a mental problem being treated at the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office escaped and then seized the parked mobile car of the Morong PNP,” the Rizal Provincial Police Office said in a statement.

“Police immediately responded and chased the car until they hit a post and the victims,” it added.
Authorities said five people, including a police officer, were also injured in the incident.
The suspect is now under police custody.
