MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) is set to validate around 580 hectares of land in Carmen, North Cotabato, with a plan to have it distributed to 218 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the province.

The land validation will be conducted under the Project Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Tilting (SPLIT), a program that involves parcelization of lands and issuance of individual land titles to ARBs previously awarded lands through collective certificates of land ownership award (CCLOA).

The DAR said on its website that the land up for validation covers properties in Malapag, Carmen. DAR officials, ARBs, and stakeholders have held a meeting to discuss the project.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has promised to complete the land title distribution to identified farmer-beneficiaries before his term ends in 2028.

In May, Marcos led the distribution of land titles to 5,438 farmers in Eastern Visayas.
