MANILA, Philippines — It will be another cloudy day with isolated rain showers due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) in most parts of the country on Thursday, according to the state weather bureau.
“Halos buong bansa po ay nakararanas ng maulap na kalangitan dahil sa ITCZ,” said Aldczar Aurelio, weather specialist of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in a public weather forecast.
(Almost the entire country will have cloudy skies due to the ITCZ.)
Aurelio, however, said that scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast in Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARRM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao), Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City), Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and Davao Occidental.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also see overcast skies but only with possible isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
“Itong ITCZ ay magpapatuloy ang epekto nito bukas, kaya makakaranas pa din ng maulap na kalangitan at thunderstorm,” he said.
(The effects of the ITCZ will continue until tomorrow so we will still experience cloudy skies with thunderstorms.)
Pagasa added that no tropical cyclones are expected to form or enter the Philippine area of responsibility until Friday.
No gale warning is in effect over any of the country’s seaboards.
