DAR: Certificates of condonation, release of mortgage ready by July 19

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has guaranteed individual land titles to 18 agrarian reform beneficiaries following validation of a 43-hectare agricultural land in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

MANILA, Philippines— Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Sec. Conrado Estrella said on Tuesday that certificates of condonation and release of mortgage under the new Agrarian Emancipation Act will be distributed on July 19.

Estrella emphasized during a Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon pre-SONA special that DAR will distribute the certificates in compliance with Republic Act 11953 and expects to reach 300,000 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB) by 2025.

“Another important feature of the New Agrarian Emancipation Act is the July 19 date wherein, we will begin the distribution of the Certificate of Condonation and Release of Mortgage,” Estrella said.

“For the remaining 6 months of this year, we expect to distribute about 300,000,” Estrella added.

RA 11953, signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on July 7, 2023, directed DAR to pursue the dismissal of all pending court cases regarding unsettled payments of principal and interests over agricultural lands covered by agrarian reform laws. —Moss R. Laygo, INQUIRER.net trainee
