MANILA, Philippines — A stabbing incident was reported at the University of the Philippines – Diliman campus Monday evening. 

In a social media post, UP-Diliman confirmed that the incident occurred at around 8 p.m. on July 8 at the UPD National Science Complex.

While no details were given about the victim or the motive behind the attack, the university said that the former was immediately brought to hospital.

“Everyone is reminded to stay vigilant and report anything suspicious to the authorities. The UPD administration will continue deploying more security personnel in different areas of the campus,” the university’s post read.

UP said that the Quezon City Police Department has now taken over the case.

“In case of emergency or if assistance is needed, please contact the UPD Public Safety and Security Office at 0917-597-1984 or the UPD Police at 8981-8500 local 113,” the university said.
