Janitor gunned down
A longtime janitor of the Office of the Ombudsman was shot and killed in his house in Quezon City on Thursday evening.
An initial police report said that the killing of Vicente Valdez, 49, may have been carried out by someone known to the victim.
“[His] house stands in the middle of a densely populated area and the only way to reach it is to walk through a confusing, narrow and winding alley that ends and lead to another road,” said SPO3 Eric Lazo of the Quezon City Police District homicide section.
Valdez was shot and killed by a lone man who barged into his house on Fatima Street, Barangay San Vicente, Quezon City, at around 8:10 p.m.
The police said they were still trying to determine the motive for the killing.
Witnesses described the gunman as 5’6” in height, of medium build, with fair complexion and and dressed in a white and blue shirt with denims. Nancy C. Carvajal
