LUCENA CITY – Police seized more than P1 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) from an alleged “high value” drug trafficker in Imus City in Cavite province on Wednesday night, July 3.

The Public Information Office (PIO) of Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) reported on Thursday afternoon that one alias “Kabayo”, 36, was collared by anti-illegal drugs operatives after he allegedly sold a pack of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) Alapan 2B at 9:40 p.m.

The law enforcers confiscated from the suspect 150 grams of shabu worth P1,020,000 and a mobile phone, which will be subjected to digital forensic examinations if they have records of drug transactions.

“This successful operation highlights our relentless effort and our intensified campaign against illegal drugs, sending a clear message that the PRO Calabarzon is committed to making our communities safer and free from the scourge of drugs,” Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas, PRO-4A director, said in a statement.

Police tagged the suspect as among the persons included in the police drug watch list as an “HVI” or high-value individual in the local drug trade.

Authorities are investigating the source of the drugs.

The suspect is facing a complaint for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
