Pagasa: Cloudy Wednesday with a chance of rain

Pagasa: Cloudy, rainy Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and rain showers will prevail in parts of Mindanao and Palawan due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), while partly cloudy skies and isolated rain showers are forecast in Metro Manila and the rest of the country on Wednesday, according to the state weather bureau.

“Itong intertropical convergence zone ay nakakaapekto sa bahagi ng Mindanao at sa may Palawan,” Obet Badrina, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa), said in an early morning forecast.

(The intertropical convergence zone is affecting parts of Mindanao and Palawan.)

The Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Badrina said the ITCZ may weaken in the next few days, resulting in less rainfall.

“Sa mga susunod na araw naman, inaasahan na hihina na ang epekto ng intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ, sa ating bansa,” he said.

(In the coming days, the ITCZ is expected to weaken.)

No tropical cyclones are expected to enter or form inside the Philippine area of responsibility in the coming days.

“At least from two to three days, maliit ang tiyansa na magkaroon ng bagyo sa loob ng Philippine area of responsibility,” Badrina said.

(At least in the next two to three days, there is a slim chance of a tropical cyclone developing inside the Philippine area of responsibility.)

Pagasa did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s seaboards.
