'High value' drug suspect nabbed for P442,000 shabu in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY — Police in this city arrested a 44-year-old woman tagged as a “high-value individual” in a buy-bust operation on Saturday night at San Nicolas village.

City police director Colonel Amado Mendoza Jr. said in a statement on Monday, July 1, that some P442,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) was confiscated from “Mela” when, at around 7 p.m. on Saturday, an undercover police operative bought a sachet of shabu from her using marked money.

After arresting Mela, police allegedly seized 65 grams of shabu from her.

Police are still investigating the source of the drugs.

Mela is facing charges of violating the country’s anti-drug law.
