MANILA, Philippines–Rains will be experienced in parts of the country due to a tail end of a cold front affecting Northern Luzon and an intertropical convergence zone in Mindanao, the state weather bureau said Friday.

Northern Luzon and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Batanes which may trigger flash floods and landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, it added.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the northeast to north over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, Pagasa said.
