Pagasa: Fair Friday weather due; LPA off Mindanao dissipates

Pagasa weather forecast June 28, 2024

MANILA, Philippines—Fairweather, with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, is forecast for Friday as the low-pressure area (LPA) last spotted off Mindanao has dissipated, and the effects of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) are also waning, the state weather bureau said.

“The low pressure area dissipated yesterday (Thursday) and the ITCZ [has] now weakened and is no longer affecting the country,” said Aldczar Aurelio, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Easterlies prevail in the country, so we could expect fair weather,” Aurelio added.

Aurelio also said that no tropical cyclones are expected to form or enter the Philippine area of responsibility this weekend.

“To those asking if there are tropical cyclones expected for the next few days, we don’t expect any low pressure area or tropical cyclones from the Pacific Ocean that would affect the country,” Aurelio said.

Pagasa did not raise gale warnings over any of the country’s seaboards.
