Man found hanging dead
A 38-YEAR-OLD man was found hanging dead in his house in barangay Catarman, Liloan town, northern Cebu.
Police said there were no signs of foul play and that Alfredo Marikit apparently killed himself.
The day before that, he went to a neighborhood disco with a woman companion at dawn of Wednesday.
He came home despondent because the woman had refused to dance with him.
When Marikit asked her to dance with him, the woman refused and instead danced with another man at the disco.
She told police later that Marikit was silent when they went home.
The woman was a boarder in the house of Marikit’s uncle.
Marikit was later found by his uncle hanging with a nylon rope tied around his neck, said police.
The man was brought to the Eversley Hospital in Mandaue City but attending doctors declared him dead.
Police said there were no signs of foul play in the man’s death. /Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
