A PROPOSAL to require contractors and developers of residential and commercial establishments in Mandaue City to secure permits before starting work on their projects is being pushed in the City Council.

Councilor Demetrio Cortes Jr. said there were many complaints from the Office of the Building Official that most contractors and developers would start construction work without complying with conditions of their permits.

Last month OBO officials stopped constrcution work at the Gaisano department store in barangay Casuntingan, after it was discovered that the contractor failed to secure proper permits.
