Marcos announces toll suspension across entire Cavitex in July

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday said that toll fees for all parts of the CAVITEX are suspended in July.

MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday said that the toll in all parts of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) are suspended in July.

The approval came from the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), composed of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of Public Works and Highways (DWPH), Department of Finance (DOF) and the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda).

“Inaprubahan na ng Toll Regulatory Board na binubuo ng DOTr, DPWH, DOF, Neda, at ng pribadong sektor ang rekomendasyon na suspendihin ang pangungulekta ng toll – RFID at cash – sa lahat ng bahagi ng Cavitex simula Hulyo 1 hanggang Hulyo 30 nitong taon,” said Marcos in an X post.

(The Toll Regulatory Board, composed of the DOTr, DPWH, DOF, Neda, and the private sector has already approved the recommendation to suspend the collection of toll – RFID and cash – in all parts of Cavitex from July 1 to July 30 this year.)

Marcos thanked the Board for its decision, as well as the Manny V. Pangilinan group for supporting the measure.

The President earlier urged the TRB to implement a 30 day suspension of the CAVITEX toll fees
