MANILA, Philippines — Rain showers may occur in some areas of Luzon on Thursday afternoon due to thunderstorms, according to the state weather bureau.

In an 11:15 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said rain may be experienced within the next few hours in parts of Quezon, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and Rizal provinces.

Before noon, rain showers have been ongoing in portions of Batangas and nearby provinces, the state meteorologist noted.

The state weather agency then advised people in affected localities to take precautions against weather-related disasters.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” it said.
