Park n’ Go, Water Market tie for 2nd in Power 40 basketball

WATER Market upset Ang Tibay Mo, 102-100, while Park n’ Go edged Allyn & Sons, 116-115, Tuesday night to share second place in the standings with identical 4-1 records in the Power Forty Ball Club-2012 summer basketball tournament at the Emilio Jaca Memorial gym in barangay Inayawan, Cebu City.

Utassco leads the tourney with a clean 5-0 slate.

Ang Tibay Mo led in the first two periods but Water Market unloaded a blistering, 35-20 rally in the third for a, 79-74, advantage entering the final quarter.

The fourth was marked by several deadlocks until Michael Arias nailed a perimeter jumper with four seconds remaining that lifted Water Market to the 2-point win.

FEATURED STORIES

In the other game, Allyn & Sons led, 32-30 at the start but Park n’ Go persevered especially at endgame to win by a point despite Julyan Capala’s buzzer-beating triple.

Adot Tabar and Wewe Cabrera paced n’ Go with 31 and 25 points, respectively while Julyan Capala and Melvin Caumeran paced Allyn & Sons with 34 and 25 points, respectively.
