MANILA, Philippines — Police seized P2.7 million worth of illegal drugs in a series of operations across Southern Metro Manila.
In a report on Wednesday, Southern Police District (SPD) said it had conducted 44 focused operations, which resulted in the arrests of 58 individuals from June 19 to 25.

“These operations resulted in the confiscation of substantial amounts of illegal drugs, including 404.79 grams of shabu and 3.6 grams of marijuana, with a total standard drug price value of P2,753,004,” the SPD revealed.
SPD director General Leon Rosete said these week-long operations align with the police’s commitment to a drug-free environment.
In May, PNP chief General Rommel Marbil drew attention to the crackdown on illegal drugs in the country, saying that police need to double efforts in the fight against illicit drugs for a 100 percent drug-free community. — Felice Nafarrete, INQUIRER.net intern
