HONTIVEROS ORDERS SUBPOENA VS ALICE GUO: Sen. Risa Hontiveros orders the issuance of subpoena against suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Leal Guo Wednesday, June 26, 2024, after she failed to attend a Senate hearing on alleged human trafficking, cyber fraud operation and scamming activities. Hontiveros also ordered the issuance of subpoena against Guo Jian Zhong, Sheila Guo, Wesley Guo and other resource persons who failed to attend the public hearing. Hontiveros said she wanted Alice Guo to clarify a number of issues including the identity of two Alice Leal Guo, both born on July 12, 1986 in Tarlac. “Is it a coincidence that this National Bureau of Investigation clearance was applied for just a few days before the date of filing of the delayed registration of birth of the other Alice Leal Guo in Tarlac City? Or is this a case of stolen identity? Why does Guo Hua Ping need to steal the identity of Miss Alice Leal Guo when she already has a validly-issued investor’s visa that will allow her to stay here? Who is this girl whose name is Alice Leal Guo but doesn’t look like the Mayor. Where is she now?” Hontiveros asked. The lady senator said they had found another connection that is disturbing because it has to do with a massive investigation by the Senate during the last Congress and will release it at the right time. MANILA, Philippines — “Is this a case of stolen identity? Has Guo Hua Ping assumed the identity of a Filipino woman?”

Sen. Risa Hontiveros couldn’t help but raise these questions on Wednesday after finding out that a different individual with the name Alice Leal Guo already exists in the database of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

“I want you all to take a good hard look at this document. The birthday on the birth certificate of [Bamban, Tarlac Mayor] Alice Leal Guo is the same: July 12, 1986. The spelling of the name is the same, but the faces are different,” Hontiveros said in Filipino during the hearing.

The documents that Hontiveros presented are record clearances provided by the NBI. A quick look at the documents would show that both individuals have the same date of birth. Both of them hail from Tarlac.

“I have many questions. Is it a coincidence that two Alice Leal Guo were born on July 12, 1986, in Tarlac?  Is it a coincidence that this NBI clearance was applied for just a few days before the date of filing of the delayed registration of birth of the other Alice Leal Guo in Tarlac City? Or is this a case of stolen identity?” she added.

In her closing remarks, Hontiveros said she is convinced that the name Alice Leal Guo was stolen from a Filipino.

“She did not only steal her citizenship but also the identity of a Filipino. A Chinese citizen who managed to fraudulently obtain the status of a Filipino citizen, run for mayor, and gain the trust and friendship of very powerful and influential Filipinos — some of which seem to include politicians,” the senator added.

Hontiveros said Guo must attend the Senate’s hearing on her alleged involvement in Pogos, or else the local official will be cited for contempt.

Earlier, Hontiveros and Senator Sherwin Gatchalian presented documents from the Board of Investments and the Bureau of Immigration showing that Mayor Guo’s true identity is Chinese woman Guo Hua Ping.

“Alice Guo might be Guo Hua Ping, who entered the Philippines on Jan. 12, 2003, when she was 13 years old,” Gatchalian told reporters in a Viber message then.

The documents from the Guo family’s application for a Special Investors Resident Visa indicate that Guo Hua Ping’s birth date is August 31, 1990.

This contradicts Mayor Guo’s earlier pronouncement that she is a “lovechild” of her father and his housekeeper.
