MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is currently comparing the fingerprints of Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Leal Guo and Chinese passport-holder Guo Hua Ping, Sen. Risa Hontiveros said on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Senate probe into the alleged illegal activities of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (Pogos) in the country and Mayor Guo’s alleged involvement in these, Hontiveros said she asked the NBI to compare the fingerprints.
“I wrote to the NBI to request the biometrics data of both Guo Hua Ping and Alice Guo, looking to compare their fingerprints. We have obtained their fingerprints and these are currently being analyzed,” she said in Filipino.
Guo Hua Ping is the presumed “real identity” of Mayor Guo.
Earlier, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian showed documents from the Board of Investments and Bureau of Immigration allegedly proving Mayor Guo’s true identity. This contradicts her earlier pronouncement that she is a “lovechild” of her father and his housekeeper Amelia Leal.

If Mayor Guo is proven to be a Chinese woman, Gatchalian said it could strengthen the quo warranto case against her.
Mayor Guo has been the subject of scrutiny after the Senate panel on women bared her alleged ties to Zun Yuan Technology, a Pogo hub in Bamban, Tarlac that authorities raided in March.
The local official has repeatedly denied this allegation. She insisted that she is a “simple Filipino citizen.”
