Marcos reserves portion of land in Tondo for DHSUD projects
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. has reserved a portion of land in Tondo, Manila, for ownership and development by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
Marcos, through Proclamation No. 610, also formed the Project Inter-Agency Committee (PIAC) chaired by DHSUD, with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the City Government of Manila as members.
Under the proclamation, Marcos authorized the Environment Secretary to issue the corresponding Special Patent covering the area to reserve for DHSUD’s township development projects.
It effectively amends Proclamation No. 96 by excluding a particular portion of the land, identified as Lot 4-A, Csd-00-003715, in Tondo, to allow the DHSUD to own it and carry out urban development.
The PIAC, on the other hand, shall formulate and issue the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the proclamation, as well as identify the beneficiaries of the housing component of the township development.
