In Taguig City, police arrested a 29-year-old man, who yielded more than P1 million worth of suspected “shabu” during a but0bust operation early Tuesday morning (June 25, 2024). INQUIRER FILES

MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested a 29-year-old man, who yielded more than P1 million worth of suspected “shabu”, in Taguig City early Tuesday morning.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said in a report that the suspect, only identified as “Abel,” was apprehended during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Upper Bicutan at 4:45 a.m. on June 25.

Abel is considered a “high-value individual,” according to authorities.

Police also said that Abel yielded 150 grams of shabu—slang for crystal meth, which is also known as “poor man’s cocaine”—an”estimated value of P1,020,000 during the buy-bust operation.

A red pouch, a weighing scale, buy-bust money, and boodle money were also confiscated from the suspect, police added.

The Taguig City Police have taken custody of Abel, who is expected to face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the seized illegal drugs and other items.
