Police: Pedicab driver hacked to death by 2 farmers in Quezon province

MANILA, Philippines —  A 49-year-old pedicab driver was reportedly hacked to death by two farmers in Quezon province on Monday afternoon, according to the police.

In a report on Tuesday, the Calabarzon police identified the victim as Noel Telar Pines, who was driving his pedicab along Barangay Inabuan in San Francisco when suspects “Aquilino” and “Dennis” approached him and hacked him multiple times.

Authorities said Pines sustained cuts on various parts of his body. He was immediately brought to San Francisco Municipal Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The Calabarzon police said the San Franciso Municipal Police launched hot pursuit and follow-up operations to track the suspects down. The police said they have yet to know the motive of the suspects.
