P971,000 ‘shabu’ seized from 3 persons in Quezon

LUCENA CITY — Police in Quezon province arrested three suspected drug traffickers and seized shabu (crystal meth) worth more than P970,000 in sting operations Sunday.

Police arrested at 10:45 p.m. “Edgardo,” 50, after he sold shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay Ibabang Iyam in this city, said Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, in a report.

Authorities confiscated 28 grams of meth worth P571,200 in the street market.

Also seized was a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspect, a resident of Sariaya town, in his trade.

In Sariaya, drug enforcers nabbed “Zandro,” 36, around 7 p.m. in Barangay Pili.

The suspect was caught with three sachets of shabu worth P220,000 in the street market.

In Mauban town, police with a warrant of arrest, swooped down around 10:30 p.m. on the house of their unidentified target, wanted for murder and frustrated murder, in Barangay Lual Barrio.

The subject of the operation was not around, but his wife, “Myra” allegedly assaulted the policemen.

When assuaged and frisked, Myra yielded 13 sachets of meth inside her purse.

The shabu is worth P179,520 in the streets, police said.

The police are probing further for the source of the illegal drugs.

The suspects were jailed and face complaints for violating anti-drug laws.

Myra also faces a case of assaulting persons in authority.
